1. download debian-6.0.4-i386-CD-1.iso from www.debian.org
2. burn the iso imsage to dvd
3. boot from dvd rom
4. default locale to en_US, and unselect "install desktop environment"
5. after preliminary installation finished, login to debian console
6. vi to edit /etc/apt/sources.list, delete all existing contents and add the following:
8. install vim: apt-get install vim
9. install x window and kde: apt-get install x-window-system-corekde-core gtk-qt-engine
10. restart and login to kde desktop via kdm
11. open konsole, su to get root permission and install sux:apt-get install sux
12. install alsa and kmix: apt-get install alsa-base alsa-utilskmix
13. auto mount ntfs partitions which are used by Windows XP:apt-get install disk-manager ntfs-3g; and run disk manager, it's very simple
14. configure locales: dpkg-reconfigure locales, and select en_US,zh_CN etc...
15. now you can get access to windows xp partition, open C:\windows\fonts in dolphin, right click to install following fonts: arial, courier new, tahoma, tahoma bold, verdana, times new roman, simsun, simhei etc.
16. select system settings.apperance.fonts, make tahoma 10 bold forwindow title, courier new 10 the default fonts for fixed width, and tahoma 10 for the rest. also enable anti-aliasing and configure dpito 96.
17. configure gtk styles and fonts as well
18. install flash plugins: apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree
19. install iceweasel: apt-get install iceweasel, aka mozilla firefox
20. install tool-chains: apt-get install gdb gcc g++ autoconf automake binutils
21. download qq for linux from qq.com
22. change /boot/grub/grub.cfg as necessary
23. reboot to your new debian system and have fun^^
