This is to record some IPv6 knowledge.
IPV6 gets 128 bits to hold the ip addr, and can be expressed in several types, which is related the IPV4 and IPv6 interworking techonology.
There is a dual stack which can both translate IPV4 and IPV6 protocols. To make these 2 protocols interwork in Internet, a server with dual stack is one of those ways.
Some populated ways are adopting some kinds of tunnel. Typically they encapsulated the IPV4 addr into IPv6 addr, using the Network ID or interface ID of IPv6 addr, then send the package as part of the IPv6 data.
Or they assign an IPV4 addr for an IPv6 node while send IPV6 package to IPv4 network.
A Tunnel broker can be deployed to handle these inerworking. There is a common model. It would provide the information need for interworking, such as IP addr, ttl, regiester to DNS, the server for next hop.
