We enable our customers to optimize chips for power, cost, and performance—eliminating months off their project schedules.We’re looking for an Applications Engineer to join the team.

• In this role, you’d provide technical and engineering insight and direction to support and improve usability, applicability, and adoption of products, platforms and solutions to meet customer business needs.

• You’d diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex technical issues on customer installations—plus you’d deploy and traincustomers on new implementations and capabilities.

• You’d review and analyze feedback on product and solutions performance from customers and other application partners,working directly with Research and Development (R&D) to develop and implement technical roadmaps, specifications, and validation for improvementsand enhancements.

• As a partner with customer technical leadersand sales, you’d identify business challenges, develop effective technical solutions for new accounts, and increase utilization and retention of productson current accounts. Enable relevant and advanced methodologies to meetcustomer goals; leveraging the best in class features of Synopsys tools. 

 

Job Description:

 

Physical Design Application Engineer (AE) is expected to support the sale and adoption of Synopsys productsto help customers achieve tangible and lasting performance improvements in thecost, quality, and development time for projects.

 

Physical Design AEs support Synopsys physical design (P&R) solutions. In addition, they are expected toarticulate design methodologies involving Synopsys tools and be elevator-talk proficient in the full Synopsys tool portfolio.

 

Their sales support rolesinclude product demonstrations, evaluations, competitive benchmarking and account planning; Customer support roles include training, problem resolution, service delivery and technical account management.

 

Physical Design AEs leverage their knowledge by writing SolvNet Articles, and by assisting other AEs. They also provide technical feedback to Synopsys product development teamspertaining to critical issues and recommended enhancements. Business travel will be required for this position.

 

Requirements:

 

MSEE, or equivalent required with 5+ years of experience, or BSEE or equivalent with 7+ years of experience.

 

Experiences should include ASIC/SoC back-end design (Place & Route), knowledge of designing in 28nm or below process technologies is preferred.

 

Experience in timing sign-off and physical verification is desired. Excellent verbal and written presentation/communication skills are mandatory.

 

Customer sensitivity, the ability to multiplex many issues & set priorities and have a helpful/caring attitude towards customers, and the desire to help customers exploit new technologies are essential for success in the position.
