飞机上是否只用一种操作系统？

最近频繁地看到题为“飞机上一般是什么操作系统？”的同一帖子。其中一节的标题是“波音-787，AH-64用的操作系统是VxWorks”，并给出了VxWorks开发商Wind River的网站链接。

笔者在Wind River网站上找到以下内容：

以上文字表明，Wind River提供的VxWorks 653分区操作系统用于由GE开发的IMA。IMA是现代飞机中N多个系统之一。由此可知， 只能说“VxWorks 653分区操作系统被用于波音787的IMA”，而不能说“波音-787用的操作系统是VxWorks”。

当然，不排除波音787的某些系统/分系统/设备可能使用了VxWorks（这是与VxWorks 653并列的另一种产品）。但是，由众多供应商各自开发的系统/分系统/设备不可能统一地都使用VxWorks或任何其他一种操作系统。

A plane is not a single system. It is a large complex of co-operating systems, many from different manufacturers. Each system may well have multiple computers within them. Those computers will almost certainly not used the general purpose operating system the public are aware of, but stripped down systems based on much smaller Real Time OSes (RTOSes), some times referred to as Executives. These are just the very core of an OS, and everything runs in Kernel mode, with no User mode.
