Create a milestone

I want to create a reference point or milestone in our project plan that marks the end of a major phase. In this case, the shipping of a software application. First of all, I insert a new task that represents the actual milestone, and call it ship, and I give it a duration of 0 days, and any task of 0 duration automatically become milestone, the Microsoft Office Project displayed the blank diamonds in the Gantt chart view for the milestone, now alternatively I can specify the milestone has a duration of 1 day, then I will click a task information, and in the advanced tab, I will select “Mark task as milestone”.
