SVG

SVG好像前几年大家讨论的比较多，这方面的学术论文也不少！但是近几年关于这方面学术文章基本看不着!

 

原来说微软IE7.0支持SVG，我用的是IE7.0测试版，但是并没有支持SVG啊！我在Adobe的网站上看到，ADOBE2007年一月后不再对SVG提供支持了。是不是现在大家对SVG并不看好，大厂商都不重视了！

YAHOO SVG开发社区中据说ADOBE内部人的一个帖子：

 

Adobe has decided to discontinue support for Adobe SVG Viewer. There
are a number of other third-party SVG viewer implementations in the
marketplace, including native support for SVG in many Web browsers.
The SVG language and its adoption in the marketplace have both matured
to the point where it is no longer necessary for Adobe to provide an
SVG viewer.

SVG is an established vector image format. Adobe currently supports
SVG in several of its authoring and server products, including
Illustrator, InDesign, GoLive, Version Cue, Graphics Server,
FrameMaker, and FrameMaker Server.

Adobe customer support for Adobe SVG Viewer will be discontinued on
January 1, 2007.

很显然ADOBE出于商业考虑停止了对ASV的支持
1，对ADOBE的FLASH，甚至PDF形成威胁
2，如果浏览器都内置了SVG，那么ASV没有存在的价值了

乐观的说，ASV是SVG实现中的一种，还有FIREFOX等其它SVG VIEWER，而且未来IE等可能内置SVG支持。但事实上ASV是目前使用最广泛，也是最稳定，对SVG支持最好的SVG VIEWER，而且ADOBE不仅仅停止了SVG的升级，在2008年停止下载，而且不允许其它SVG开发者捆绑发布ASV，这不能不说对SVG社区的一个打击。SVG的未来还不明朗，YAHOO上的SVG社区对ADOBE此举有很大反响。关心的朋友可以到

我觉得svg最大的障碍就像下面中提到的还是浏览器的支持，Adobe对svg的影响不会太大。

在2005年之前力推SVG技术的最大的商业公司非Adobe所属，并且该出版巨头对svg技术发展提供了非常重要的贡献。Adobe看中svg的优势，并推出在线浏览“Adobe SVG Viewer"插件以支持显示svg，而这样做无非就是看中其未来的发展前景及巨大的商业价值。但“Adobe SVG Viewer"毕竟只是一种过渡性的软件，没有主流浏览器内置支持是无法普及SVG技术的，更无法谈起SVG在的商业价值。(获得svg的更多消息请访问 SVG中国 http://www.chinasvg.com)

进入2005年，Adobe收购了Macromedia，并且开始淡化"Adobe SVG Viewer"的支援，这些都是出于其商业目的。不过，也不是我们想像中的那样差，Adobe对"Adobe SVG Viewer"的淡化，并不表示对"svg"技术的谈化,比如其中flash与svg技术会有更多的结合点,并且flash会作为svg的一种扩展形式,再运用到我们生活,这些都是极有可能的。

SVG未来之路不会因为这个产生负面影响，相反adobe收购Macromedia后，其flash会加入更多svg方面的特性,会有更多的人了解这种技术。
再者SVG的特性已经开始让更多的开发者关注，并且出现了很多svg的实际运用例子。其中与webgis的结合，更是让大从对svg有了新的了解。最最关键的是浏览器中后起之秀"Mozilla Firefox"已经内置支持svg了。Microsoft Internet Explorer 7.0或者未来小段时间也会支持svg的，这是大势所趋(因为microsoft的强大对手Mozilla已经在这方面超越了他,Mozilla Firefox对svg的发展会促使Microsoft对svg开发。)

当解决了SVG发展最大的难题:不用插件，浏览器内置支持浏览SVG时，SVG的普及以及更多领域的运用时代也就到来了，这个日子的到来会比我们想像得快。

Microsoft 的VML是一个阻碍SVG发展的因素，虽然IE6以后就不再默认支持VML，但明显的IE支持VML比SVG要好得多

 

对ADOBE停止SVG支持，在SVG开发社区中有很多评论，分析和建议，其中一个比较有代表性的是一位原ADOBE员工回信：

 

1，肯定了ADOBE过去对SVG的贡献
2，对ADOBE的商业考虑表示理解
3，对如此仓卒草率的决定表示不满
4，建议ADOBE捐献ASV源代码
5，最后，建议ADOBE不要停止ASV下载

Pat的回信中表示ADOBE还没有最后决定，还有根据用户反馈进行修改的可能。

Jon,

Thank you for your thoughtful email. Adobe is collecting feedback on
this announcement, and the decision makers are considering the
points that you and others have made.

至于对SVG的前景，有人悲观，也有人乐观，下面是一个比较乐观的开发者，

I think this is the beggining and not the end.

Firefox, Safari, Opera will support SVG pretty fully by end 2007

Emiasys will have a plugin available for IE

XAML will be out and supported in IE7, 8

IE8 will have XAML & SVG support

If all the above fails then Google will buy Opera and Firefox and everyone
will download the browser and replace IE as everybody loves Google.

Everyone decides not to download flash player cos know that all it does is
play annoying adverts.

We will all be on high paid jobs because we are SVG experts :)

国内有人在研发与SVG相关的产品,我所主持研发的软件就是用于嵌入设备的SVG播放引擎,其性能比瑞典的Ikivo还要好(功能还有所不及), 现在这套播放引擎正在进一步研发,期望它能被用于应用程序的GUI开发之中. 相信国内开发这一软件的人还有其它的, 但在宣传上还显得不足.大家如果有什么好的想法, 可以告诉我.  woodyli@126.com
