Ubuntu 14.04 64bit install Skype

1. Download latest skype 32 bit deb package.

http://download.skype.com/linux/skype-ubuntu-precise_4.3.0.37-1_i386.deb

2. run below commands in Terminal,

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install gdebi
cd whatever/directory/you/downloaded/skype/to
sudo gdebi skype*.deb

This will download a lot of packages needed to run 32bit applications on a 64bit system so it may take a while. But look at it this way, you only need to do this once. ;-)

After everything is downloaded and installed, run this command from a terminal to launch it:

skype
