A: I just read this interesting Harvford Harvard business review on how to be successful.
B: Oh?And what did it say?Follow your passion?
A: HaHa,not quite, it actually said it’s better follow your popurse,not your passion.
B: Oh so what was the rational rationale ?
A: Well the study found people who persue pursue passion often feel dissatisfied and tend to give up easily when things get tough.Passion does wane after all .
B:True,but being doomed to a job that pays the bills is also kind of depressing hence the whole delimma.
A: Absolutely,but passion can be cultivated.So it is more important to find something fulfilling you can be passionate about.
B: OK.That I can agree with.So how do we go about finding that?
A: Focus on what you care about and align your values with your work. In the long run,purpose will give you more resilience and grit.
B: point taken.So does it mean that you will not quit your day job?
A: HaHa…Well,Let’s just say that I’m looking into other avenues.
