1. Connect to the server which you want to generate javacore:
wsadmin -port -username wasadmin -password passw0rd
SOAP_CONNECTOR_ADDRESS can be found in Application servers > -> Communication -> Ports
wsadmin -port 10033 -username wpsadmin -password wpsadmin
wsadmin -port 8881 -username wpsadmin -password wpsadmin
cd /opt/IBM/WebSphere/profiles/wp_profile/bin
./wsadmin.sh -port 10033 -username wpsadmin -password wpsadmin
cd /usr/IBM3/WebSphere/profiles/wp_profile2/bin
./wsadmin.sh -port 10033 -username wpsadmin -password wpsadmin
--------------------------------------------------------------
examples:
wsadmin.bat -username wasadmin -password passw0rd
wsadmin -port 8882 -username wasadmin -password passw0rd
wsadmin -port 8880 -username wasadmin -password wasadmin
--------------------------------------------------------------
2. Using the wsadmin command prompt, get a handle to the problem application server:
set jvm [$AdminControl completeObjectName type=JVM,process=,*]
set jvm [$AdminControl completeObjectName type=JVM,process=server1,*]
set jvm [$AdminControl completeObjectName type=JVM,process=WebSphere_Portal,*]
set jvm [$AdminControl completeObjectName type=JVM,process=LCCluster_server1,*]
set jvm [$AdminControl completeObjectName type=JVM,process=LCInfraCluster_server1,*]
To generate the heap dump:
set objectName [$AdminControl queryNames WebSphere:type=JVM,process=LCCluster_server1,*]
set objectName [$AdminControl queryNames WebSphere:type=JVM,process=LCInfraCluster_server1,*]
--------------------------------------------------------------
examples:
set jvm [$AdminControl completeObjectName type=JVM,process=BlogsServer,*]
set jvm [$AdminControl completeObjectName type=JVM,process=server1,*]
set objectName [$AdminControl queryNames WebSphere:type=JVM,process=server1,*]
--------------------------------------------------------------
3. Generate the thread dump:
$AdminControl invoke $jvm dumpThreads
To generate the heap dump:
$AdminControl invoke $objectName generateHeapDump
4. Look for an output file in the installation root directory with a name like javacore.date.time.id.txt. and .phd
wsadmin -port -username wasadmin -password passw0rd
