Checkmk Installation Guide
In this document, we use checkmk raw edition (open source) (CRE).

CheckMK Deployment
Start to deploy checkmk host;
login server; And follow below commands to install checkmk;
wget https://checkmk.com/support/1.6.0p18/check-mk-raw-1.6.0p18-el7-38.x86_64.rpm
yum install https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/epel/epel-release-latest-7.noarch.rpm
yum -y install yum-utils
yum-config-manager --enable rhel-7-server-optional-rpms # enabled = 1 find the repo
yum-config-manager --enable rhel-7-server-extras-rpms # enabled = 1 find the repo
setsebool -P httpd_can_network_connect 1
firewall-cmd --zone=public --add-service=http --permanent
firewall-cmd --reload
yum install check-mk-raw-1.6.0p18-el7-38.x86_64.rpm
omd version
Start Monitoring

omd create checkmk
#if site is created successfully, then following…
su - checkmk
#you may change the password by following…
htpasswd -m etc/htpasswd cmkadmin # /omd/sites/mysite/etc/htpasswd
#cmkadmin/cmkadmin (密码与用户名一样)
omd status
omd start
Open Browser to test your instance by login http://ip/checkmk/ to test;
Install CheckMK Agent on Target Server
Login target server;
rpm installation method
Attention: Below URL “localhost” need to be replaced by real ip.
wget http://localhost/checkmk/check_mk/agents/check-mk-agent-1.6.0p18-1.noarch.rpm
rpm -U check-mk-agent-1.6.0p11-1.noarch.rpm
yum install -y xinetd # if it was not installed
#开通防火墙
firewall-cmd --permanent --add-port=6556/tcp
firewall-cmd --reload
Go to Host Web UI, to add new host target on Host Configuration.
Steps for your references:
- Put IP Address in Hostname Field.
- Click Save & Go to Service.
- Click Monitor.
- Click Activate Changes.
Host Monitoring finished.
