INSTALL header files and lib files:

Generally speaking, there are two ways.

1.        

a.       Copy .lib to $INSTALL_DIR/VC/lib

b.      Copy .h to $INSTALL_DIR/VC/include

2.        The way I preffer:

a.       Tools->Options->Project and Solutions->VC++ Directories, select “Include files”  in drop combox of “Show directories for”, and add directories containing your own header files;

b.      Tools->Options->Project and Solutions->VC++ Directories, and select “Library files” in drop combox of “Show directories for”,  and add directories containing your own lib files;

Use libs:

The above just tell vc where to find your new files. We have to tell the linker which lib to use, or where to find the external functions.

Two ways:Use #pragma(lib,”***.lib”), or follow steps below:

1.                   Select Project->$PROJ_NAME property, and open it(or just press ALT+F7)

2.                   Then add your external lib in Configration Properties->Linker->Input->Additional Dependencies
