Availability
The central workload monitor has been available as of SAP Web Application Server 6.20. The ASAP-based components to be monitored need at least version 4.0 of SAP Basis. In addition to ABAP-based components (SAP ERP, SAP NetWeaver BW, SAP APO, and so on), you can use the central workload monitor to analyze Java-based components on SAP NetWeaver AS. Monitoring agents must be installed and running on the respective servers.
To use the central workload monitor, you must set up an SAP component (with ASAP NetWeaver AS ABAP as of Release 6.20 or later) as a central monitoring system. This system should be the same as the one used for the central CCMS Monitor. Typically, this is SAP Solution Manager. The components to be monitored must be made known to the central monitoring system in the CCMS System Component R.epository (SCR) You can find more information on the CCMS SCR and the SAP monitoring agents and their enhancements on SAP Service Marketplace at http://service.sap.com/systemmanagement.
Central single record statistics
Whereas the global workload monitor displays aggregated data, central single-record statistics provide a more detailed view; single statistics records are displayed so you can trace actions that belong to a transaction step or business process across system boundaries. The central workload monitor (Transaction ST03G) is therefore an enhancement of the workload monitor (Transaction ST03N), whereas the central single-record statistics (STATTRACE) is an enhancement of single-record statistics (STAD).
