install websphere commerce version 7.0.0.1

First one, when u want to install WCS(Websphere commerce server version 7.0.0.0) u have to get the software follows:

in my environment, I setup it in windows 2003. In this step, it is very easy, u just select typically or customize to install the required software. I choose the typically.

 

note 1: during the typically installation, it will create a demo instance for wcs, the database in DB2 is MALL.

 

after you finish install, I suggest you should restart your system operation.

 

There is a error when you start your operation, the system will pop up afpa.service error. but you can ignore it.

 

note 2: But if you want to fix this error, you can go into HTTP Server install dir/bin execute the command

 

AfpaCmd.exe -u in your operation Command window.

 

finish above, you can use the WCS.

 

note 3: There is a problem too. when u want to stop the WCS server, u can not. the log said it is about the SOAP connection error. atually, I think you can config the WAS administative console user again.

 

Second, if you want to develop in WCD, you have to install WCD and RAD. after you finish install the WCD & RAD, you have to go into WCD install dir/bin execute the setdbtype.bat command.

 

for eg.

 

setdbtype.bat db2 C:/IBM|SQLLIB WCTDB db2admin passw0rd db2admin passw0rd createdb.

 

in this the "createdb" options must put here, coz this time is a new one, you have to create a database for WCD.

 

start WCD, then you can develop on it.
