Now, Mike is making his first official announcement to the managers of XXX to
inform them about the upcoming changes.

Mike:
I appreciate having you all here.

As you know, Acceleerated English has specialized solely in develping language learning
software for many year.

Because this has been profitable in the U.S, We haven't made efforts to break into the
international market.

However, the competition has been catching up with us, so we need to explore ways to expand.

An affiliation with the right company is the direction for us if we want to grow.

In order to do this, we have agreed to be acquired by a British firm called Universal Lanaguage.

Amy:
Parden me, Mike, but are you currently negotiating with Universal Language, or have
you already agreed for us be acquired?

Mike:
Negotiations have already taken place.

We have finished our discussions with Universal and come to an agreement about some
future changes that...

Amy:
I am sorry to interrupt, but is anyone going to be laid off?

Mike:
Laying people off was never negtiable.

Universal has ackowledged that our employees are valuable asset.

Amy:
Sorry, Mike, of course, go ahead.

It's just that we'are all uneasy about waiting to see how things will play out.

Mike:
As I was saying, after weeks of deliberations among the owners of Accelerated,
we have come to an agreement with Universal that has everyone's best interests in mind.

The transition will begin immediately.

Amy:
Sorry, but may I interject again?

Does that mean our sales staff will be travelling abroad?

Do we have any staff members or consultants who are bilingual?

Mike:
We will address those issues later too.

To get back to my point, I want to announce that I will be continuing in my role as
CEO of this company.
