The one thing that I readlly miss when I'm away from home is my mum's cooking. There's just something about it that tastes like home. I think many people who have stayed away from home for a long period of time have had the same feeling at some point.
I once read an article on why people crave for food from home. It says food is deeply tied to memory. A lot of events and memoriesin our brain , especially emotionally significant memories, are linked to smells of foods . I guess that provides a scientific explaination for this .
However , this may sound a bit cringy , but I think it's also the care and love that my mum puts in the cooking that make it so specical .
