Norton Ghost™ stops responding at the message "Checking NTFS volume"
Situation:
While creating an image of an NTFS partition, the computer boots to the virtual partition, but the DOS Ghost executable stops responding at "Checking NTFS volume."
Solution:
This problem can be resolved by doing the following:
- Launch Ghost.
- Click "Ghost Basic" in the left-hand pane, then click "Backup" in the right-hand pane. The Backup Wizard appears.
- Click Next.
- Select the Source and Destination, then click Next.
- Enter the file name or location, then click Next.
- Click the Advanced Settings button.
- Select the "Ghost Command Line" tab.
- In the "Additional options. . . " field, type the following:
-NTC- - Follow the prompts to complete the wizard and execute the task.
If the error message continues to occur, you may need to defragment you hard drive.
