Configure Tomcat to support remote debugging
In order to debug and set breakpoints in eclipse with Tomcat, we need to first enable remote debugging in Tomcat. The easiest way is to run
catalina jpda start
|
to start Tomcat instead of
startup
|
in command line. It will start Tomcat so that a remote debugger can be connected to port 8000.
Debug Tomcat using Eclipse
Go to "Run->Debug Configurations...". Click on "Remote Java Applications", then click "New". Type in the title. Note that port 8000 from the Tomcat instructions. Save and run.
