Here is a try to work with Firemonkey to port APE, my Physics Engine translation from Alec Cove.
Good News : From Win to IOS, throught XE2 IDE, all the stuff gone good.
Sad News : On the Device, performance suffer of a major slow down. Update seems to fix partially the stuff, but I did not get it at this time.
Here is the IOS simulation device :
As you can see, 33 FPS in the best world ever, the fake one
Here is now the real device, on IOS 4.3 with an Iphone 3GS :
5 FPS !! Argl. )
As you can see, the whole process take about 0,100 ticks (approx. 100ms) So, normally, we should reach about 10FPS on this device.
So, What is wrong ? No idea for instance, I assume the FMX subsystem took the 500 ms theoricaly available… Hope that will be fixed in future. I noted too that the Bitmap.Assign take a lot of time, I thing there are certainly other way to do that.
To finish on a cool view, I thing really this platform is a great blast for all Pascal programmer, and I feel it good for the next month, if Embarcadero will work in a same way in the upcoming month than the 10 past !
