Given a string, determine if it is a palindrome, considering only alphanumeric characters and ignoring cases.
For example,
"A man, a plan, a canal: Panama"
is a palindrome.
"race a car"
is not a palindrome.
Note:
Have you consider that the string might be empty? This is a good question to ask during an interview.
For the purpose of this problem, we define empty string as valid palindrome.
public class Solution {
public boolean isPalindrome(String s) {
if(s == null)
return true;
else if(s.length() == 0)
return true;
else {
char[] c = new char[s.length()];
int index = 0;
for(int i = 0; i < s.length(); i++){
Character cc = s.charAt(i);
if(Character.isLetter(cc) || Character.isDigit(cc)){
if(Character.isLetter(cc))
c[index] = Character.toLowerCase(cc);
else
c[index] = cc;
index ++;
}
}//end of for
for(int j = 0; j < index; j ++){
if(j >= index - j){
return true;
}
else{
if(c[j] != c[index - j - 1])
{
return false;
}
}
}
}
return true;
}
}
