ZFS Basic Install

basic install

yum install -y fuse fuse-devel zfs
download zfs-fuse-0.6.9-6.20100709git.el6.x86_64.rpm
rpm -Uvh zfs-fuse*

create a zpool

zpool create -O atime=off bigbig raidz2 /dev/sdb /dev/sdc /dev/sdd /dev/sde /dev/sdf /dev/sdg /dev/sdh /dev/sdi /dev/sdj /dev/sdk /dev/sdl /dev/sdm
zfs set compression=on bigbig

make a chkconfig

chkconfig zfs-fuse on

other command

# restart service
/etc/init.d/zfs-fuse restart

# check zfs
zpool list

# recovery
# https://blogs.oracle.com/sch/entry/2008_next_recovering_a_dropped
pfexec zpool import -f bigbig

log anaylisis

# make a point at the log file , if you met restart server and you lost your zfs mount point

# zfs do have the optimization questions, but really stable

# it is the right option, if you want a big pool disk but you do not have a raid card with this server
