git branch -r
lists remote branch, it differs from
git ls-remote
in that the latter figures out what branches are on your remote by actually using the remote related command, so in order to inform git branch -r remote newly created branch, run
git pull
locally on any branch.
Example shown below contains a newly creately branch ACM-165-Scan-Results-Use-RSSI, after 'git pull',
git branch -r knows about ACM-165-Scan-Results-Use-RSSI
The remote newly created branch is colored in
yellow.
1. run git branch -r, see no branch named
ACM-165-Scan-Results-Use-RSSI
2. run git ls-remote, ACM-165-Scan-Results-Use-RSSI is there
3. git pull retrieves ACM-165-Scan-Results-Use-RSSI info
4. run git branch -r,
