My eyes on MCML and Media Center APP development

well, the project i developed is one of the plugin of MCE.

These days, my projcet is sucked by a lot of problems i'm not familia with. So i go to the Media Center Sandbox discuss forum to find some clue about my project.

Well, i saw some topic i'm interested in.

First:MCML and future version of Media Center

Since WPF looks to take more and more space in Microsoft environment, does anybody know if mcml is still going to be the preferred API for Media Center development in future versions ?

Some rumors say Media Center 2008 would lose MCML for WPF... so i was quite worried about the future of the MCML applications we all develop. Should we be prepared to something ?

Thanks in advance for anyone who would have a clue on this subject

The rumors are false. The Windows Media Center Presentation Layer Application model (which encompasses Media Center Markup Language and / or the .NET Framework) will continue to be the definitive platform for Windows Media Center.

The following platform features have been deprecated with this release:

• Hosting for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) browser applications (XBAPs).
• The Triple-tap / Soft-keyboard ActiveX control for hosted HTML applications.
• Support for using alternative shells to run and host HTML applications.
