一年一度的阿里日 祝福阿里

2005年5月10日，阿里日诞生，阿里巴巴有了属于自己的节日。

阿里日，为了纪念2003年阿里人抗击非典时所体现的果断、团结、敬业、互助互爱和永不放弃的阿里精神。

2003年的那场非典，来得气势汹涌。阿里巴巴一名同事被确诊为非典疑似病人，在杭四百多名阿里员工以及他们的家人朋友近千人从5月7日起开始了为期一个星期的隔离生活。这是阿里巴巴的第一次SOHO!

非典的突袭，让整个社会以及各个行业都受到不同程度的打击。对于阿里巴巴，从我们SOHO的那一刻起到隔离结束，没有人察觉到阿里巴巴的任何变化，相反，我们的业绩节节攀升，并突破当月历史新高。

非典给我们带来的，不仅仅是一次SOHO的经历，更在于我们找到阿里精神的真正内涵所在。

“但凡一个个人乃至一个公司，要成就其非凡的伟大必经受并战胜非常的困难和挑战。当非典的记忆悄悄的在我们的脑海中褪去的时候，阿里人在抗击非典过程中所体现出来的果断、团结、敬业、互助互爱的阿里精神却历久弥新，不管是否亲身经历过那段危急时刻，都深深为阿里人所创造的奇迹感动着、激励着。我们相信，非典只是一个试金石，其实在我们日常工作中的点点滴滴细微之处都能感受作为阿里人所具有的独特质量；就是这种质量，这种精神，让我们坦然的面对挑战并战胜挑战；让我们迅猛发展并更加迅猛强劲的发展；让阿里之所以为阿里，让阿里人之所以为阿里人。

在阿里巴巴走过的历程中，我们创造了许许多多的商业奇迹，所有阿里人都为之欢呼，为之自豪；但是我们知道在闪亮的业绩背后更值得骄傲的是推动阿里不断前进的阿里精神和价值观。为了让更多的阿里新老同事能更深切的体会和交流阿里巴巴所倡导的企业价值观，我们隆重推出专属阿里人的节日「阿里精神日」。在每年的五月十日，我们会推出一系列的活动来激荡和升华每位阿里人心中对阿里精神的领悟，让更多的同事看到、听到、闻到身边的同事是如何在工作中展现阿里价值观，如何在平凡中孕育奇迹。在这一个特殊的日子里，让我们的心在同一个频率跳动，让我们的声音在同一个地方回响，让我们的微笑以同一个方式绽放。

让我们共同期待五月十日的到来！！

10 May - Ali Day

No matter where they were in March 2003, most people remember how that month an outbreak of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) threatened the health of virtually everyone on the planet. During the outbreak, SARS cases and deaths were reported every day in countries all around the world as health authorities desperately tried to figure out how to stop the pandemic

One of our colleagues was confirmed to be the 4^th SARS case in Hangzhou, and all Aliren were quarantined on May 7, 2003. Despite the atmosphere of fear and uncertainty, our business was almost entirely unaffected during the isolation period. Under trying circumstances, all staff members remained dedicated to their jobs and carried out their duties without losing sight of our key value: customer first. Love, care and support were demonstrated in every corner of our organization.

We successfully fought against SARS, and within a few years our business had increased dramatically. To remember and honor the passion and dedication shown during the SARS epidemic, as well as to encourage Aliren to advocate these values, 10 May has been named Ali Day, a festival for all Aliren.

“To allow both new and old Aliren to gain a deeper understanding of Alibaba’s values, we have created a day of festivities dedicated to our employees – “Ali Spirit Day.” Each year on May 10^th, we will engage in a range of activities to invigorate and stimulate Aliren spirit so that everyone can experience how Alibaba’s values are embodied in our work lives and how teamwork can enable ordinary people to do extraordinary things. On this special day, let our hearts beat in sync, let our voices be united and let our smiles become one. Let us look forward to the arrival of May 10^th!”    --- By Jack
