I’ve had a hell of a time trying to find a good metaphor to kick off this final article in my series on how to build a successful Proof of Concept. It had to be inspiring, it had to be pithy — void of platitudes or obvious conclusions. And honestly, I’ve failed. So here goes. Finalizing your high-fidelity Proof of concept has to do with perseverance, and the reward you gain when you stick with a grinding process to the end.

Over the past 15 years, I have helped hundreds of students develop interactive projects, mobile applications, and interactive art installations. Through this experience with my students, I have found that this process of creating a Proof of Concept is critical to the success of any interactive design project.

To recap, I define a Proof of Concept as a comprehensive presentation that includes a persona, user story, flow diagram, and a step-by-step sequence of images that represents how a user moves through a particular interactive experience.
