You can delete the app directory if it is no longer required. Apart from deleting the app directory, youhave to remove the line: IMAGE_INSTALL_append= " myapp" from /project-spec/meta-user/recipes-core/images/petalinux-image-full.bbappend. Deleting thedirectory by keeping the mentioned line will throw an error.
