这个文件包含自动完成的邮件地址列表。outlook的自动完成联系人邮件的列表，并不像outlook express那样，是从联系人里面直接拿出来的，而是存储在一个cache文件outlook.nk2里面，如果这个文件是空的，自动完成是不会提示任何email address的。如果备份了这个文件，就可以把你以前曾经输入过的邮件地址，在输入的时候自动提示出来。

Someone had formatted and reloaded WIN XP on a Notebook and backed up everything EXCEPT MS Outlook!! Yikes…. I have used ONTRAKS Easy Recovery Professional and cannot find any usable .pst, However, I did find this file called OUTLOOK.NK2 whick looks to have email addresses embedded in it with lots of ASCII characters… Is it possible this this file may be the Contacts and how might I recover the addresses in the file.. I have done searches with ONTRACT for the keywords

But the NK2 fil is the only one that I can see that may be close
