To achieve good fingerprint image enhancement effect and improve the accuracy and speed of fingerprint recognition, this paper describes a method for the realization of the fingerprint image enhancement based on Matlab. The fingerprint image is enhanced by the wavelet analysismethod. A directionmap2based fingerprint image enhanced in the wavelet domain is designed based on the low quality fingerprint, and the effect of the low quality could be restrain2ed.
