Today write a python script to sumbit requests via https, python version is 3.2, encountered an error when calling http.client.HTTPSConnection()
conn = http.client.HTTPSConnection(ip,443,None)
AttributeError: 'module' object has no attribute 'HTTPSConnection'
after google it, found that the default setting of Python disabled SSL function, so we need to open it and recompile it after install openSSL.
you need to follow the steps below:
1. install openSSL
2. remove "comment out" the following in ../Python-3.2/Modules/Setup.dist, the updated setting should be like below:
# Socket module helper for SSL support; you must comment out the other
# socket line above, and possibly edit the SSL variable:
SSL=/usr/local/ssl
_ssl _ssl.c \
-DUSE_SSL -I$(SSL)/include -I$(SSL)/include/openssl \
-L$(SSL)/lib -lssl -lcrypto
# The crypt module is now disabled by default because it breaks builds
# on many systems (where -lcrypt is needed), e.g. Linux (I believe).
#
# First, look at Setup.config; configure may have set this for you.
crypt cryptmodule.c -lcrypt # crypt(3); needs -lcrypt on some systems
NOTE: you must open "crypt cryptmodule.c -lcrypt # crypt(3); needs -lcrypt on some systems", otherwise you maybe get an error when you recompile python:
renaming "_ssl" since importing it failed,
ok, now it is done.
(1)install openSSL:
$ ./config
$ make
$ sudo make install
(2)install/recompile python
# Socket module helper for SSL support; you must comment out the other
# socket line above, and possibly edit the SSL variable:
SSL=/usr/local/ssl
_ssl _ssl.c \
-DUSE_SSL -I$(SSL)/include -I$(SSL)/include/openssl \
-L$(SSL)/lib -lssl -lcrypto
# The crypt module is now disabled by default because it breaks builds
# on many systems (where -lcrypt is needed), e.g. Linux (I believe).
#
# First, look at Setup.config; configure may have set this for you.
crypt cryptmodule.c -lcrypt # crypt(3); needs -lcrypt on some systems
$ ./configure
$ make
$ sudo make install
