6.1 Plagiarism(剽窃问题)
1.Plagiarism of others’ work:
Passing off other’s writing (or tables and figures) as your own.
Incudes:
- Cutting and pasting(粘贴) sentences or even phrases from another source
- Slightly rewriting or re-arranging others’ words
- “borrowing” material from sites like Wikipedia
2.When writing about others’ ideas/work:
- You must understand the material well enough to put it in your own words
- Work from memory
- Draw your own conclusions
- Do not mimic(模仿) the original author’s sentence structure or just re-arrange the original author’s words.
3.Self-plagiarism and duplication(重复)
Recycling your own writing or data, including:
- Copying or only slightly rewriting text from your own previously published papers
- Adding new data to already published data and presenting it as new results.
- Submitting identical(相同) or overlapping(重复) data to multiple journals.
6.2 Authorship
6.3 The Submission Process
1.Identify a journal for submission(ideally before writing)
2.Follow the online “instructions for authors” for writing and formatting(格式) the manuscript
3.Submit your manuscript online(corresponding author)
- All authors must fill out and sign copyright transfer(版权转让) and conflict of interest forms(利益冲突表)(often done offline)
4.Possible outcomes: accepted; accepted pending minor revisions(等待小的修订后通过); rejected but re-submission possible(修订和重新提交); no resubmission possible
5.Revision and resubmission: re-submit with cover letter that addresses reviewers (修改的地方) critiques point by point:第三种情况再次提交时,要另外交一份你针对上次批评的地方,所作出的对应修改的信
6.Once accepted, carefully review final proofs(仔细检查期刊的最终校样)
