leetcode-58. Length of Last Word最后一单词的长度 python

题目

Given a string s consists of upper/lower-case alphabets and empty space characters ’ ', return the length of last word (last word means the last appearing word if we loop from left to right) in the string.

If the last word does not exist, return 0.

Note: A word is defined as a maximal substring consisting of non-space characters only.

Example:

Input: “Hello World”
Output: 5

python split分割

python中的函数split()可以直接分割空格，那么直接返回分割后最后一个单词的长度就行，需要注意的是字符串为空的情况。

    def lengthOfLastWord(self, s):
        """

        """
        s = s.split()
        if not s:
            return 0
        else:
            return len(s[-1])

遍历

从后往前遍历，遇到空格记录下来然后累计长度。
需要注意"a "的情况

class Solution(object):
    def lengthOfLastWord(self, s):
        """
        :type s: str
        :rtype: int
        """
        res = 0
        j = len(s)-1
        while j>=0 and s[j] == ' ':
            j -= 1
        while j>=0 and s[j] !=' ':
            j -= 1
            res += 1
        return res
