As a development, we always do some preparation work regularly: upgrade the code, uninstall some unneeded software, disk cleaning.
In the morning, I has been running the following tasks at the same time:
1, Disk cleaning up
2, Upgrade the code
Any of these two tasks will drop down the computer’s performance. Even worse, I am unable to stop my current work to examine the status of these tasks.
As you can image, my work was interrupted time and time again.
Looking forward, I should avoid re-fall into the same problem. I should do this kind work (the preparation work) when I am idle (I am out for the lunch, out of the work, in the meeting). The benefits from this are:
1, the computer’s performance will be not dropped down.
2. I will be more easier to focus on my current work.
Note:
We should pick out some preparation work before we fall into idle to avoid our work is blocked (we will have to do the preparation work in our work time, this is the situation we try to avoid). So we should know the current preparation works exactly.
