RESM6005: SURVEY DESIGN 2023/24C/C++

Java Python RESM6005: SURVEY DESIGN

SUPPLEMENTARY ASSIGNMENT 2023/24: Survey Design Proposal

Submission

This assignment is worth 100% of the overall marks for this module. This coursework is due in at 4pm on Friday the 16th of August 2024. Your assignment should not exceed 3,000 words.

You should submit coursework electronically via the Supplementary RESM6005 TurnitinUK on Blackboard website by using the Turnitin link no later than on 16 August 2024 at 4pm. Turnitin is a plagiarism detection tool which checks your work against electronic sources and other submissions for the same assignment.

Note that the file has to be smaller than 10 MB and should be submitted as a readable PDF format document. You will be able to submit your report to Turnitin multiple times before the deadline, each submission will overwrite the previous one up until  the deadline at which point that submission is final.

Login to the Blackboard site for this module and select the Assignments link from the left-hand menu. Find the coursework and click View/Complete. There will be a series of screens to complete and then you will upload your assessment as an electronic file. For a tutorial  explaining the submission procedure in detail please go to the iSolutions website:

http://elearn.southampton.ac.uk/blackboard/student/studentplagiarism/

Please ensure that your tables and graphs (if applicable) are big enough to be readable once submitted. In other words, if the report is printed off straight from Turnitin, the graphs /tables should all be legible.

Once you have submitted your assignment through Turnitin, you are able to download a copy of your Digital Receipt. It is recommended you do this as soon as your submission is complete and keep a copy, since it may be required as proof that you have submitted your work. When your submission is successful, you are taken back to the Assignment Dashboard and a message is shown that says “Submission uploaded successfully Download digital receipt” . You can select “Download Digital Receipt” to download your receipt. If you come back to the dashboard in the future, the message will not be shown instead you can use the icon to the far right of the submission item to download a copy of your Digital Receipt. If you do not receive a submission ID number and cannot download a Digital Receipt, it means that you have not submitted. If this is the case, you will be penalised. If you think you have submitted but cannot obtain a Digital Receipt, then you should contact the module  coordinator (om206@soton.ac.uk) as  soon  as possible.

You are advised to leave plenty of time before the deadline for electronic coursework submission, delays due to computer ‘glitches’ will not be considered as justification for late submission.

It is the policy of the Department of Social Statistics and Demography that coursework is anonymous, th RESM6005: SURVEY DESIGN 2023/24C/C++ erefore only your Student ID Number should appear on the file seen by the marker. To maintain anonymity please do not put your name on any part of your submission. It is very  important for you  not to forget to include your Student ID as otherwise we will not be able to identify whose work is being marked.

Penalty for late submission of coursework

Work submitted up to 5 days after the deadline will be marked as usual,  including moderation or second marking, and feedback prepared and given to the student. The final agreed mark is then reduced by the factors in the following table:

University working days late

Mark

1

(final agreed mark)*0.9

2

(final agreed mark)*0.8

3

(final agreed mark)*0.7

4

Policy for overlength work

Your assignment should not exceed 3,000 words. Relevant additional output can  be presented in an appendix that should not exceed 5 pages. Please use reasonable margins (around 2cm on all sides) and font size 12. The appendix does not count towards the word limit. If you exceed word limit of 3,000 words, the extra material will  not  be marked.

The word count excludes:

•   Title page, Table of Contents (if relevant)

•   Abstract (if relevant)

•    List of figures, list of tables etc
