Install tools and web client

1.Install the Siebel Web Client:

 

Navigate to the Siebel_Web_Client/Disk1/install folder and double click the oui.exe file.

- Follow the wizard and keep the default settings.
- Select the desired language packs (always include American English).
- At the client type selection, select "Mobile Web Client".
- Keep the defaults in the remaining dialogs. The setting gathered in the wizards can later be changed in the .cfg file for each application.
- During the installation, Internet Explorer will launch to preload the Siebel ActiveX controls. You will be prompted to close the IE window so that the installer can continue.

 

2.Install the Sample Database

 

Navigate to the Siebel_Sample_Database folder and double click the install.exe file.
- Select the language for the installer dialogs.
- Keep the defaults in most dialogs, except for those described below.
- Select the custom installation type.
- Change the installation directory to the client's installation folder. (The sample database will be installed in the..Client/Sample/UTF8 directory).
- In the language selection, select only "English (American)".
- Keep the defaults in the remaining dialogs and wait for the installation to finish.

3.Install Siebel Tools:

 

Navigate to the Siebel_Tools/Disk1/install folder and double click the oui.exe file.

- Keep the defaults in most of the dialogs, except for those described below.
- In the file system path dialog select the path which point to the SAMPLE/FILES folder in the client install directory.
- Wait for the installer to finish before you use or launch any other programs.

4.  - Modify the Tools.cfg so it can connect to the sample database installed in the client directory.

 

a - Navigate to the Client/BIN/ENU directory and open the uagent.cfg file.
- Copy the entire value of the ConnectString parameter in the [Sample] section. Then close the uagent.cfg file.
b - Navigate to the Tools/BIN/ENU directory and open the Tools.cfg file.
- Override the value of the ConnectString parameter in the [Sample] section of the Tools.cfg with the value you copied from the uagent.cfg.
- Save and close the Tools.cfg file.

 

To test the connection, launch Siebel Tools and connect to the Sample database using SADMIN as the user and SADMIN as the password. Then launch the Siebel Call Center application and do the same.

Note: The training user DDEV/DDEV does not exist in this Sample database. You can login as SADMIN/SADMIN to do Siebel labs.

 

if you open the tools,and meet the license has expired, if you can not login to siebel tools or siebel dedicated client. you can manually update wrong license key on table S_APP_KEY.If you update license key must restart siebel services. then you can enter new license key over web client. Administration-Applications -> License Keys
