Dense / Sparse Index
Sequential file:The file being sorted in the attributes of the index
Heap file:Files stored in random order across pages of the file
优缺点：
Sparse: Less index space per record can keep more of index in memory
Dense: Can tell if any record exists without accessing file
Secondary index：
To speed up queries on attributes not within primary key
