What is a terminal multiplexer? It lets you switch easily between several programs in one terminal, detach them (they keep running in the background) and reattach them to a different terminal. And do a lot more.
In the other words, the "tmux" is a populor and easy-using tool to login a remote server and handle it. The most useful feature is manage the sessions and windows/panels.

ctrl + b, s list sessions
ctrl + b, c create new session
ctrl + b, d detach

tmux + new + -s + $name: create a new session with $name
tmux + a(ttach) + -t + $name: attach ....
tmux + kill-window + -t + $name:
tmux + kill-session + -t + $name:
ctrl + b + [direction key] : move cursor into different window/panel
ctrl + b + %: split window/panel as column
ctrl + b + " : split window/panel as row
ctrl + b + x: kill a pane
