Why cultures are different?
Assume that we have a n*n square. Each block represent a person.
Assumption 1 : we have several features to coordinate each feature has a trait. a trait looks like {1,2,2,2,2,2}
Assumption 2 : Some people are leaders while the others are follower. Each person may have a probability to interact which depends on how similar are their traits. Follower may change one number in the trait while they interact with a leader.
Finally we can see some people look more similar (their trait look similar) while other people have a much more deeper boundaries to interact.
What's the difference between coordination game & standing ovation?
The payoff is difference. In coordination game, if people don't coordinate with others, that will lead to a horrible result. While in standing ovation the payoff is small, you may not coordinate with others.
Culture may get suboptimal cuz ohter people choose to do it.
Why can we see the difference within a group
After we adding consistency which means { 1 , 2 ,2} may become {2 , 2 ,2} and using markov process, a little error term may lead to a huge difference inside the group.
