using jupyter

0. install python and jupyter

In my ~/.bashrc, I have:

. /tools/software/Modules/modules-4.7.1/init/profile.sh

export MODULEPATH="/tools/modulefiles:/workspace/japrin/05.setting/modulefiles":$MODULEPATH

module purge

module load python/3.9.5

1. generate lab configure file:

jupyter lab --generate-config

2. edit the file ~/.jupyter/jupyter_lab_config.py, and setting these options:

c.ServerApp.ip = "*"

c.ServerApp.open_browser = False

c.ServerApp.port = 1818

3. set password:

jupyter server password

4. start a server:

jupyter-server

5. login using a web browser:

http://[ip address of the machine running the jupyter server]:1818/lab

6. settings for R

in R environment,

install.packages('IRkernel')

devtools::install_github("IRkernel/IRkernel")
