CICS Domain
CICS regions are divided into several domains, each with its own set of resources and functions. Domains communicate with each other by means of interface called Gates.
1. Domain Manager
Domain Manager domain maintains catalogs of important information about all the domains.
2. Application
The Application domain is responsible for terminal management, file access control, and the interface between CICS and application programs. It contains several key components such as
l Application and system service
l Extended Recovery Facility
l Intercommunication segments, such as Multiregion Operation (MRO) and Inter-System Communication (ISC)
l System control
l EXEC Interface Program (EIP):interprets the EXEC CICS command, invokes the relevant control program to process request, acquires or accesses necessary control blocks
