Research on the Status Quo and System architecture of the Web Information Resource Evaluation

Abstract: Web information resource evaluation (website evaluation) becomes more and more important, as the web information resources become larger and more complexity. Thus, a lot of theory and methods have been developed to evaluate websites. However, these theory and methods haven’t achieved the ideal effect. In this paper, we analyze the primary method applied currently in the evaluation of the web information resource and point out the main problems in this area from the perspectives of qualitative evaluation, quantitative evaluation, synthetic evaluation and automatic evaluation, after conducting an in-depth and comprehensive research of the literature and evaluation tools home and abroad. Furthermore, we draw the conclusion that the evaluation of information resource on the Internet should be based on the internal and external characteristics, probe into the website evaluation indexes system. We then put forward the System Architecture scheme of the automatic website evaluation which grounds on usability engineering, hoping to solve the problems to some extent.
