cowboyoutfits using mmdet

线下使用mmdet进行cowboy_outfits目标检测

本文大部分参考mmdet官方文档以及nekokiku

安装
  1. 首先你的环境里要有GPU版的pytorch,参考pytorch官网
pip install torch torchvision torchaudio

ps. 似乎没有cuda和cudnn驱动也可以用gpu版的torch,anaconda下已经预装了它俩。

  1. mmcv-full 一定要装full版本,不带full的是cpu版本
pip install mmcv-full -f https://download.openmmlab.com/mmcv/dist/{cu_version}/{torch_version}/index.html

ps. torch_version 只有1.7.0 1.8.0 1.9.0等大版本,1.8.1也得输入1.8.0

数据集准备

本文数据集来自cowboyoutfits
包含5分类,牛仔套装中的(belt, sunglasses, boot, cowboy_hat, jacket)
训练集共3062,采用coco格式标注,dev phase测试集999, final phase测试集818
最大的挑战是数据不平衡,最少的类别belt只有21个

验证集划分

参考讨论区
不同的是,注释掉所有valid部分,将划分出的test作为验证集,test_n=150,最小比例0.3
这样将取150与类别数*0.3的最小值作为验证
共划分出2609作为train, 453作为val

配置mmdet

看了很多博客,都清一色要求去修改mmdet/core/datasets/coco.py中coco的类别,
实际上在config文件中覆盖就行了

  1. data
    在mmdetection目录下新建data目录,并创建数据集和标签的软连接

  1. pre-weights
    加载openmmlab提供的预训练权重,先创建个文件夹用于存储
    下载地址在configs任意一个目录下的README.md
    这里以cascade-rcnn为例 model

  1. config (重点)
    重点就是config文件的配置
    点开configs/cascade_rcnn/cascade_rcnn_r50_fpn_1x_coco.py
    继承四个文件,分别是models, datasets, schedules和runtime

  • models文件包含backbone, neck, rpn_head, roi_head, train_cfg和test_cfg
  • datasets包含data路径、类别信息和一些数据增强
  • schedules是学习率管理,默认是multi_step
  • runtime管理log hook以及是否加载coco预训练权重

我这里使用cascade-r50作为baseline,搭配cosine学习率
由于cosine anneal与multi step有参数上的不同,我在 configs/_base_/schedules/下创建了schedule_Cosine.py

  1. train
    mmdet加载权重的顺序是resume_from > load_from > backbone
    work_dir在config中已经指定,因此并不需要在终端指定
    另外config中加入fp16 = dict(loss_scale=512.)开启混合精度训练
    在训练前,需要制作一个测试集的coco anno json文件,用于inference阶段直接输出coco格式的answer.json

写在最后

尝试了四次就没再改了,最后的结果是线下resnext101最好,线上毫无tricks的baseline效果最好…XD
训练hook见wandb

  1. baseline: cascade-resnet50在dev phase直接飙到了71+,后来才知道只是大物体的mAP… XD
  2. backbone换成resnest50效果更差了, resnext101-32x4d验证集效果最好
  3. 换用G/D/CIoULoss无济于事, Smooth L1已经很准了
  4. OHEMSampler,毫无波动
  5. multi-scale+花里胡哨的albumetation
  6. test_cfg使用soft_nms,iou_thres=0.6似乎对medium object有略微提升
  7. 最后一天才发现dev phase只有large object的mAP,final phase只有medium+large,似乎这才是上分的关键?
