Augment Reality in Education

Augment reality is an enhanced version of the real physical world that is achieved through the use the digital visual elements, sound, or other sensory stimuli delivered via technology.[1]

AR superimposes sounds, videos and graphics onto an existing environment. It uses four main components to superimpose images on current environments: cameras and sensors, processing, projection and reflection. [2]

Augment reality (AR) transforms how you work, learn, play and connect with the world around you. It’s the perfect way to visualize things that would be impossible or impractical to see. AR has the potential to change the location and timing of studying. More importantly, it brings new and additional ways and methods in education.

Space and three-dimensional appeal

AR can help students see and digest knowledge in a cubic effect way. Is helpful in some complex and un-visualized subjects. For example, in medical science, if students learn the human structure, the way of blood flow and internal organs, AR will present the knowledge more comprehensive.

Explain abstract and difficult concepts

AR has an ability to render objects that are hard to imagine. For example, for chemistry, the elements are hard to image because nobody can see them in real life. AR can demonstrate the construction in a visual way.

Engagement and interaction

Students and teacher are able to get involved in the models. They can be a part of the models. For example, in sports, AR can bring students into a virtual world. They can move, act or play with the change of the virtual objects.

AR technology may make classes more engaging and information more apprehending. It will help the learning process should be all about creativity and interaction.
