a personality that people admire

There are many kinds of real and alleged personalities. Perhaps one of the commonest and the most unconscious groupings is

1.       people I like,and

2.       people I don’t like.

This classification obviously does not get at the heart of the problem, because it is entirely personal and subjective. This type of egocentric classification is unscientific and, in general, illogical. Your dislike of an individual, for instance, may be based on some imagined wrong he has done to you, or the association of his name or appearance with someone else whom you dislike.

In this connection it is well to remind you that, no matter what you do to improve your personality, there always will be someone who does not like you. You can’t mold a personality that will be uniformly desirable in everybody’s eyes.

Nevertheless, as we shall see farther on, there are some kinds of personalities that are almost universally disliked, and some kinds that are admired by the great majority of people.
