c编译器

ANSI C compiler is a compiler that support ANSI standard in C programming. When C came early 1972 it become most popular language of that time (today also) but that time any standard is not formed related to C . Most of the compiler writer and companies enhanced C language according to himself. After sometimes people found a standard is required for C because its popularity so ANSI came into picture. ANSI standardized C language which is followed by all companies and compiler writer for C. Because C language has many standard most of compiler a flag -std=?? for use specified standard. Some standard have common functionality and some are not.

E.g. GNU C standard support zero length array inside structure which is not supported by ANSI C

struct bab{
int array[0];
float b
};
when compile using gcc -std=gnu -o bab bab.c compile sucessfully.

Some usefull standard which we give to gcc are -std=c89, -std=c99,-std=f2003, -std=c11
