I have been teaching at RIT since 2008 and I always look forward
to the beginning of a new course.

I am very excited to be teaching cyber-security fundamentals.

I've been a professor since 2001 and have taught over 50 different courses in networking,
security, systems administration, ethical hacking, forensics, routing and switching,
malware reverse engineering, programming, web design, web scripting, database design and more.

I have a master's degree in computer science, as well as 34 high level industry certifications.

The highlight of my career occurred in May 2014,

In this introduction to the field of computing security, I'll give you an extensive overview
of the various branches of computing security.

You will learn cyber-security concepts and issues that are critical to solving problems
in the computing security domain.

Each weekly module will consist of lecture videos, questions on each video,
selected module activities, like polls and discussion forums, and a graded quiz at the end.

Each module will also contain lots of external links with real world stories
that relate to the module's content.

which is available for free online.

We're going to start off by talking about computing security concepts
and problems in the first two weeks.

In week 3, we're going to take a deep dive into cryptography.

We'll spend the next two weeks mastering networking fundamentals required
for cyber-security professionals.

This course is also the first course
