Overview
Visual Studio 2005 Team Foundation Server provides team collaboration tools that enable organizations to manage and track the progress and health of software projects. Team Explorer integrates the project work products found on the project site into the Visual Studio IDE for efficient team access. Team Foundation also provides extensible work item tracking and enterprise-class version control systems.

Single-Server Deployment Checklist
This checklist outlines the general steps for installing Team Foundation Server using a single-server deployment and links to details for each step. A single-server deployment puts the Team Foundation data and application tiers on the same computer. You can install Team Foundation Build and Team Explorer using separate procedures after Team Foundation Server is installed.

Stop the SQL Server Browser Service, install the hotfix for Microsoft SQL Server 2005, and then verify that the service is enabled, set to automatic, and running. You can stop the service in the SQL Server Configuration Manager by right-clicking the service and then clicking Stop. On the Team Foundation Server installation media, locate the folder SQLServerKB, locate the executable file (.exe) for your operating system and language, such as AS2005-KBnnnnnn-x86-ENU.exe, and then double-click the file to start the installation.
