eeting and Singing With Jon Bon Jovi
It was 1997, Yes. it was last century but it doesn't seem that long ago. Six other girls and myself (plus two chaperons) had tickets to a Jon Bon Jovi concert. For weeks before the concert! all that we listened to was Bon Jovi music! We knew the lyrics (or what we thought were the lyrics) to the band's every tune,
The concert was beyond exciting. The music was fabulous! For some of us, it was our very first rock concert! From almost the first song. we sang along and we found space to dance. And some video person recorded some of our activity,
Because it was obvious that we were underage, the head of the camera crew came over and asked google site all of us if we would have consent forms signed, [Remember, this was before YouTube and cell phone cameras; and people asked permission to use recorded images,] He invited us backstage and we could meet Jon Bon Jovi! We were in heaven!
After a long night of performing! he was kind and gracious, He asked how we liked the concert and everyone spoke at once, Somehow, we managed to communicate that we knew every word of every one of his songs, He asked us to show him and we did.
The first song that we outletcheapmichaelkors sang was "Queen of New Orleans"! We sang! clapped and did our dance routine. Of course, we were too young to realize what the words really meant, There is a part of the song that goes "ohhhhhhh ohhhhhhh". For weeks we had been exaggerating that to about ten times the amount of "ohhhhhhs" that were necessary, We imitated Bon Jovi's flat presentation, Bon Jovi thought that was hilarious. And after "Queen of New Orleans". he suggested other songs to test whether we really knew them, He sang them with us, It was an incredible experience,Afterwards! he asked us to stay and have some food, One of his crew brought over CDs! t-shirts. hats, posters and other gifts for us! He gave everyone free stuff, even our outletcheapmichaelkors.com/ chaperons! He signed the CDs, When he found out that our chaperons were nuns (very cool nuns). he gave them even more bags and bags of goodies, He was incredibly genial and good natured,
And why am I recounting this excursion from the last century? - One of the seven girls recently became engaged, The wedding is in Perth. Australia later this month. We are all meeting in Australia in late August; and we will sing "Queen of New Orleans" at the wedding reception! It is in the bride's plans,
We still know all the words! And Jon Bon Jovi thought we were "cool". Here's his concert version from 1997. We were there! It was a fabulous night, [There is a more risque version that Bon Jovi has on YouTube.] It is composed by wudideshuaige xuxiaobu 2013-05-03 .
