The first runner-up was Sian Lendrum! 21, from Ravensbourne College of Design and Communication. while Catherine Gerrard, 23! from the University of Brighton was in third place!
All three students have won a five-month. fully-paid apprenticeship! from July to November, 2009, at the MaxMara headquarters in Reggio Emilio, Italy. with the possibility of longer-term contracts!
Apart from prize money of 2!000! 1!500 and 1,000 awarded respectively to the three winners. the girls' colleges will also benefit to the tune of 5.000, 3.000 and 2.000 respectively!

The three were chosen from a total of 189 contestants from 22 fashion colleges! All had been required to develop! in outline, sketch. swatch, and actual clothing or accessories if they wished, a capsule collection of 8-10 looks suitable for pushing forward the direction of one of MaxMara's key women's wear ranges.
Announcing the winners! Lindsay's winning submission was based on a range of luxury, multi-purpose knitted dresses! tunics and trousers using innovative mercerised cotton, paper and crepe-viscose yarns, some of which had been fine-pleated! as well as voluminous coats in a salt-and-pepper felted merino wool with a unique coated finish, inspired by surrealism and architecture! which despite the conceptual-sounding approach were considered highly commercial as well,
