API Management 软件的归属和类别

Gartner 把 API Management 归入 Application Service Governance（应用服务治理）软件类别中（见 “Gartner Report: Magic Quadrant for Full Life Cycle API Management（Mark O'Neil etc., October 27, 2016）”、“CA Technologies Positioned in the Leaders Quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Application Services Governance _ 20150416”），而 Gartner 的应用服务治理属于 Integration Middleware 中的一类（见 “Gartner Platform as a Service: Definition, Taxonomy and Vendor Landscape, 2012 ”）。不过今年 Gartner 已经开始直接使用 API Management 这个类别了（见 Magic Quadrant 报告 Market Definition/Description 节），API Management 方兴未艾，在 Digital Business 时代有很大发展空间，把它归到治理里面好像挺受限制。

IDC 把 API Management 归入 Integration Middleware 中（见 “Application Development & Deployment  at IDC Research -- XMind Online Library ”）。IDC 在 Integration Middleware 下定义了三类软件：API Management Software、Enterprise Service Bus Middleware 和 Connectivity Middleware。
