Installation
Configure the Environment of AJAX
.NET Framework 3.5 has been integrated into the AJAX extension environment which included in System.Web.Extensions dynamic link library. If you have installed the .NET Framework 3.5 already, then you will need not to install the AJAX environment for develop additional.
Now let we configure the web.config file for ASP.NET AJAX requires, you will need to edit it which typically in the directory like C:/Inetpub/wwwroot/wss/VirtualDirectories/80 (do not forget to backup the regional file)

You need attention the thing when you will edit the web.config file. The article refers to the version of ASP.NET AJAX extension is v 1.0.61025.0, but Visual Studio 2008 integrated is v 3.5.0.0. You need replace the version number from 1.0.61025.0 to 3.5.0.0.
Suggestion:
If you have the application(s) developed with ASP.NET AJAX already and you want to deploy it on SharePoint server, you may configure the web.config file before deployment.
