install Chinese input in the ubuntu english version

install language packages:

system settings --> language support -->install/remove languages

choose chinese,click apply.

 

install ibus framework:

sudo apt-get install ibus ibus-clutter ibus-gtk ibus-gtk3 ibus-qt4

 

start the ibus framework: im-config -s ibus #(you need restart the computer)

install the spell engin:  sudo apt-get install ibus-pinyin

 

set ibus framework: sudo ibus-setup

add the chinese-pinyin in the 'input method'

add the input method: find the text entry, click the + on the left, add the input method you want so that you can exchange the input method easily.
